Aligning with the California Healthy Youth Act (CHYA), Waymakers—the lead victim service provider for the Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force (OCHTTF)—recently hosted “Know More, Do Better 2.0.” The conference brought together 500 students between the ages of 12 and 14 from more than 20 middle schools to receive education on how to recognize the signs and dangers of human trafficking.
Held at Vanguard University’s Global Center for Women and Justice, the event was a collaboration between 35 local government and community-based nonprofits in an effort to prevent and protect local youth from becoming victims and to help support the schools in providing all middle- and high-school-age students with prevention education.
