Anti-human trafficking nonprofit EverFree commemorated Human Trafficking Awareness Day with a major step forward in aiding survivors of human trafficking: They introduced nearly 40 representatives of the Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force’s victim service providers to their remarkable Freedom Lifemap. It’s a first-of-its-kind, localizable and tech-based assessment tool that quickly identifies areas of vulnerability that must be addressed as survivors establish their freedom. So, it’s a big deal for these frontline service providers to see exactly how it works with a demo by its co-developers, UCI Blum Center’s Ph.D. Candidate Kelsey Morgan (also EverFree’s CEO) and Angela Robinson Ph.D.
The Reveille team was thrilled to secure on-site attendance from KNBC/Telemundo, KABC and The Orange County Register, documenting this pivotal training and capturing the enthusiastic feedback from the participants. Following the demonstration, attendees explored “The Survivor Lens,” an art exhibit that EverFree curated in collaboration with the Orange County Museum of Art showcasing photography and poetry created by survivors of human trafficking hailing from Uganda, the Philippines, and United States.
