To recognize breast cancer awareness month this past October, City of Hope took a colorful twist on medical tradition and turned their physicians pink – literally! Breast cancer experts “coated” other physicians with pink lab coats as a visual reminder to get screened for breast cancer. More than 300,000 people are diagnosed with breast cancer each year, and City of Hope Orange County brought together regional health leaders to address the urgent need for screening amid rising incidence rates in younger people and people of color. Reveille spread the word effectively, with KNBC, KNX, The Orange County Register, and Daily Pilot sharing this story.
