Orchestrating Joy for 35 Years- Carl St. Clair Prepares to Pass the Baton

How do you say farewell to Pacific Symphony’s longest-tenured American-born conductor of a major U.S. orchestra? By landing him the cover story of his hometown magazine.

Originating from a small town in Texas, Carl St.Clair joined Pacific Symphony more than three decades ago and never looked back, establishing residency along the beautiful coastline of Laguna Beach. St.Clair’s incredible journey with the Pacific Symphony has helped it become one of the most highly acclaimed orchestras in the country. Mentored by iconoclasts Leonard Bernstein, Seiji Ozawa and John Williams, St.Clair is a national icon and beloved local legend. To reinforce his hometown celebrity status, Laguna Beach Magazine featured St.Clair on the cover of the magazine’s February issue, followed by a three-page spread sharing his legacy and a Q&A highlighting his favorite things about his hometown, Laguna Beach.
