All Aboard for Independence

For teens and young adults with visual impairments and other disabilities, learning to navigate the world independently is a major milestone. Beyond Blindness’ second annual Next Steps Camp helps participants build that confidence through hands-on activities such as riding public transportation, visiting college campuses and exploring unfamiliar places. To bring that impact to life, Team Reveille was thrilled to invite reporters to join campers on personalized media ride-alongs.

The result? Heartfelt, photo-driven features in The Orange County Register and Los Angeles Times’ Daily Pilot, capturing authentic moments of courage, connection and growth. The immersive ride-alongs gave our media guests a firsthand look at how Beyond Blindness equips participants with the confidence and practical skills to thrive in everyday life.
