During a Time of Joy, Some Have a Different Experience

During the holiday season, calls to Human Options, an Irvine-based nonprofit supporting survivors of relationship violence, increase significantly. Through ongoing relationship-building with journalist Cody Taylor at Spectrum News 1, Reveille helped bring timely visibility to this critical issue when access to support matters most. The resulting segment featured CEO Maricela Rios-Faust and survivor Guadalupe, highlighting both urgency and hope. To date, Human Options has impacted more than 500,000 people, with 90% of survivors who complete the program reaching safety and healing.

Guadalupe’s journey reflects the long-term impact of this work. Today, she gives back as a member of the Survivor Advisory Council and runs her own small business, GT Ink Cakes (@gtinkcakes).
