At Second Harvest Food Bank, food insecurity is met with action at the 40-acre Harvest Solutions Farm in Irvine. In partnership with UC South Coast Research and Extension Center and Solutions for Urban Agriculture, the farm produces 40,000 pounds of fresh produce each week, harvested by community volunteers and delivered to families within 48–72 hours.
To spotlight this powerful operation and the ongoing need across Orange County, Reveille welcomed KNBC4’s Hetty Chang for an inside look. Her story highlighted the scale of impact, from thousands of volunteer hours in the fields to Second Harvest’s network of 286 partner pantries working every day to feed communities countywide.
