At a time when more than 6 million Californians are turning to food banks for help each month, budget decisions in Sacramento couldn’t be more important. With federal policy shifts driving increased need, including a surge during the federal shutdown and SNAP benefit delays, Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services served 372,728 people in a single month, its highest total in 49 years.
To keep this urgency front and center, the California Association of Food Banks placed a timely op-ed in Capitol Weekly, calling on legislators to sustain and strengthen funding that helps food banks provide nourishing, California-grown foods as demand continues to rise. Reveille was honored to partner with California Association of Food Banks to place this important piece.
