Meals on Wheels Orange County is expanding its nutrition program through its CHOICE (Cultural Healthy Options for Independent Community Elders) pilot that allows eligible older adults to enjoy meals at participating local restaurants. Reveille saw an opportunity to bring the new program to life through the people providing, and enjoying, the meals. That’s when we met Khaled, general manager of Mangal Mediterranean, and Ahmed and Salhaviyeh, two local seniors getting a taste of what CHOICE has to offer through Meals on Wheels OC’s community partner, Access California Services.
We brought KNX News’ Margaret Carrero to the table for an onsite interview about how CHOICE is serving up culturally-inspired meals, connection and community for some of OC’s older adults.
