Showing our older population they are loved and cared for is at the heart of Meals on Wheels Orange County’s mission. This past Valentine’s Day, together with the Southwest Santa Ana Senior Center, Meals on Wheels Orange County hosted a festive lunchtime soiree for nearly 150 older adults to socialize and have fun celebrating the holiday. Dressed to the nines, seniors took to the floor to dance with their sweethearts and friends before enjoying a delicious, nutritious meal.
A highly anticipated event, the party was part of Meals on Wheels Orange County’s regular Lunch Café program, which helps adults over 60 maintain social connection and get a nutritious meal five days a week at 26 senior centers throughout Orange County. This critical program combats food insecurity and social isolation, helping seniors to maintain long, healthy and independent lives.
The Orange County Register, KABC-7 and KNBC-4/Telemundo joined the fun to capture interviews with attendees and photos of the festivities.
