Pacific Symphony’s Annual Lunar New Year Spectacular Welcomed The Year Of The Dragon

For the past several years, Pacific Symphony has hosted a grand Lunar New Year concert celebration, bringing to life the rich traditions of Asian cultures through a colorful presentation of music and dance. Reflecting the Symphony’s mission to unite diverse communities through the power of music, this year’s concert featured more than 200 community performers and acclaimed guest artists performing Asian folk melodies alongside timeless orchestral masterpieces.

To help tell the story and drum up excitement for the Year of the Dragon and this important cultural event, Reveille was thrilled to partner with Pacific Symphony to host an exclusive preview event for multicultural media and community leaders. Guests from more than 25 media outlets and organizations heard from Pacific Symphony President John Forsyte and the visionary behind the concert, Charles Zhang. These attendees were also treated to two special performances by Concertmaster Dennis Kim, who performed a medley of two traditional Korean folk songs, and Pipa player Yu Liu, who performed on the traditional Chinese four-stringed instrument.

The result: a SOLD-OUT concert showcasing the power that music has to connect us and bring joy to our lives, covered by Times OC, U.S. News Express, Los Angeles Post, Little Saigon TV, I LOVE IRVINE WeChat and several others.

Happy Lunar New Year
