After seeing a 300% increase in visits to its food pantry over the past five years, the
Families Forward team dedicated both time and resources to transform the
experience for families seeking assistance with food, diapers and other essential
services. The result? The Community Market at Families Forward, a new grocery
shopping experience for the hundreds of families visiting Families Forward each
month, offering them the opportunity to shop for the groceries and essential items
that match their specific needs and dietary preferences. This new model creates a
better shopping experience for clients, reduces food waste, and ensures every family
can learn more about the services the organization provides.
More than 100 guests and media attended The Community Market at Families
Forward’s grand opening event. They learned about how the newly remodeled
facility came to life thanks to both funding and in-kind donations, and heard from
families why this new facility is so essential.
