The Sweet Music Of Hope Honors Cancer Survival

More than 18 million cancer survivors nationwide inspire us every day. In honor of National Cancer Survivor Month, City of Hope, Pacific Symphony and South Coast Plaza have come together to host an awe-inspiring two-week installation, “Music of Hope,” in celebration of life triumphing over cancer.

At the heart of this moving installation is City of Hope’s striking blue “Hope” grand piano, graciously donated by Yamaha. From May 27 through today, Jewel Court at South Coast Plaza comes alive with 100 hours of live music performed by musicians expertly curated by Pacific Symphony. Surrounding the piano, the space is filled with touching stories from City of Hope’s grateful patients and a gorgeous 20-feet-high by 30-feet-wide chandelier of mirrored musical notes and the word “HOPE,” creating a shimmering, immersive experience that invites hundreds of thousands of passersby to reflect on this inspiring symphony of science, survival and Hope dedicated to everyone affected by cancer.

It is beyond rewarding for us at Reveille to see ideas and plans two years in the making come to fruition for the benefit of our community. Our creative team poured their hearts into developing the concept of the installation and seeing through the beautiful implementation (shoutout to The Fashionable Event), ensuring every element resonated with hope, healing and the celebration of survivorship. Bringing together our amazing clients City of Hope and Pacific Symphony is an honor and joy. Our media relations efforts helped secure significant coverage, including the The Orange County Register, The Daily Pilot, KFI, KNX, Press Bee and more. We are elated to be part of such a transformative experience for Orange County and our partners.

Also, good news, the Music of Hope celebration is ongoing all summer long! If you weren’t able to make it to South Coast Plaza, the blue piano will be featured at the Festival of Arts in Laguna, coming up July 3 through August 30.
