Two Incredible Nonprofits Come Together To Support OC’s Most Vulnerable

The aftermath of the pandemic includes skyrocketing costs of living and nonprofit organizations are seeing an increased demand to support basic needs. Many people are reaching out for help for the very first time. With one in every 12 people battling food insecurity, Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County is committed to supporting OC’s most vulnerable. They provide nutritious food to organizational pantries like the one found at Families Forward, an Irvine-based nonprofit that supports families at risk of or experiencing homelessness.

Both organizations are seeing a tremendous need for their services that is surpassing pre-pandemic levels. KNBC’s Hetty Chang spoke with CEOs Claudia Bonilla Keller and Madelynn Hirneise to gain firsthand insight about their efforts to combat food insecurity and help families in need throughout the county.
