Firefighters Set Hearts Ablaze with Surprise Clap-In for Battalion Chief’s Final Chemo

As Corona Battalion Chief Brandon Willson recently rolled into City of Hope Orange County for his last chemotherapy appointment, he was met with an unbelievable surprise.

Dozens of uniformed firefighters from across Southern California lined the walkway to the entrance of the hospital, holding signs of encouragement and cheering him on as he made his way. Tears flowed freely as Brandon, a devoted father of two, embraced his young children and the men on his team whom he never expected would be there for such a moving surprise. A dedicated hero who has spent his life saving others was now experiencing an outpouring of love and support as he battled cancer, with the skilled healthcare professionals at City of Hope Orange County by his side.

Brandon’s story isn’t just heartwarming news—it’s a reminder of the power of community and support, especially for the 1 in 3 Americans affected by cancer. To ensure this act of love reached across the country, City of Hope teamed up with Reveille to generate coverage on KTTV, KABC, KCAL/KCBS, KNBC, and ABC World News, among others!
