Orange County Is First to Launch Freedom Lifemap to Support Victims of Human Trafficking on a Path to Healing

EverFree, an Orange County-based nonprofit dedicated to ending human trafficking, has officially launched Freedom Lifemap, a groundbreaking and first-of-its-kind anti-human trafficking digital tool developed in partnership with the Blum Center at the University of California, Irvine (UCI). Freedom Lifemap focuses on empowering human trafficking survivors to rapidly define their unique paths to freedom. This survivor-centered, data-driven online survey not only assists responders in identifying root causes of exploitation but also facilitates the connection of survivors paving a road to healing in a manner far more quickly than ever before. Fueled by a catalytic $1.5M gift by the Samueli Foundation—EverFree unveiled the first U.S. implementation of the tool in Orange County in collaboration with the Orangewood Foundation, a leading provider of services to foster youth.

In planning for this monumental announcement, Reveille worked with EverFree to create an interactive media briefing to give reporters a first look at the tool, hear a testimonial from a survivor on the value it will provide to victims and receive comment from providers, including the Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force, about the significant impact it will have.

We were pleased to secure an advance interview with The Orange County Register special features editor, securing a full page story with photos of Freedom Lifemap and its creator, Kelsey Morgan, on the day of the launch. Reveille also secured interviews with multiple print and broadcast media outlets. This is just the beginning of our work with EverFree as we prepare for their national launch.
