With more than 310,000 Orange County residents relying on CalFresh, Second Harvest Food Bank sprang into action this fall as government shutdown concerns and disrupted food stamp benefits created an urgent spike in need. Food insecurity was quickly approaching levels seen during the height of the pandemic. Through fast coordination, strong partnerships and dedicated volunteers, Second Harvest made sure every impacted family knew where to turn for help and continued its mission to provide dignified and dependable access to nutritious food.
Reveille stepped right up, keeping pace with the Food Bank to shine the spotlight on what they needed to serve and where those in need could turn for help. KCAL/KCBS, KNBC, KTTV, Telemundo, Spectrum News, KNX and KFI News amplified this important message, pointing to Second Harvest’s tireless efforts to #feedOC.
