When a Capistrano Unified trustee used a racial slur during a recent board meeting, it sparked a swift response. The OC Black Solidarity Network didn’t let it slide–and neither did Gregory C. Scott, President and CEO of Community Action Partnership of Orange County, a founding member and program lead of the network. He called for more than an apology: a real commitment to racial equity, starting with listening, learning and engaging with Black leaders.
Scott shared that perspective in a recent Voice of OC Community Opinion piece–an important read for anyone who believes accountability should come with action.
